RevTech 6-Speed Transmission Assemblies
6-speed transmission assemblies from RevTech. These transmissions for
Softails are available in right and left-side drive, with your choice of
three different finishes – polished, black, and natural. The left-side drive
transmissions are offered with a stock end cover. The LSD transmissions
feature all-new 356-T6 cast aluminum cases, with forged trap doors. The
RSD transmissions feature a forged billet aluminum support plate with a
hydraulic clutch cylinder and contemporary styling, a large-diameter
outside pulley support bearing, and a gold zinc-coated 32-tooth
lightened pulley. All these transmissions were subjected to independent
dyno durability testing by a U.S. company in Texas. They were tested for
over 120 non-stop hours at extremely high loads, as well as an additional
2 680254 50,000 shift cycles (10,000 in each gear), and passed easily. The RSD
transmissions are designed for custom wide tire builds, and the LSD
transmissions fit 90–99 Softails, as well as most custom aftermarket
frames.
Note: Installation on 94 and newer models will require a speedometer recalibration unit.

At last, there’s a solution that reduces vibration and improves
U.S.Patent #6,155,125
acceleration. When the bike hits freeway speeds, simply shift into 6th
gear and lower the cruising RPM. Freeway cruising becomes more
enjoyable with reduced vibration, increased gas mileage while keeping
the engine in the heart of its torque band. All of our RevTech 6-speed
transmissions are complete, and ready-to-install in place of the stock
transmission with absolutely no modifications required! Every
transmission features a forged aluminum trap door to withstand the
performance demands of high-output motors, and gears made from
M680257
8620H chromemoly steel with precision-ground teeth and back-cut gear
dogs for smooth and accurate engagement. Quieter operation is
achieved with mainshafts and countershafts that feature major-diameter
fit-splines, and the shift forks are investment cast for strength and
durability. In addition to these ground-breaking innovations, a CNC-
machined, radially-uniform shift cam is used for smooth, precise gear
shifting and a shift lever throw that is same in every gear. Every RevTech
6-speed uses a close-ratio 2.94:1 first gear and 0.893:1 overdrive 6th gear,
and has chrome covers fitted to cases with polished or black wrinkle
painted finishes. The chrome end cover features the distinctive RevTech
6-speed logo laser-etched into its surface.
